Christiane Shepherd is an artist who lives and works in London. Christiane was born in Germany where she trained and worked for many years as a typesetter, a process which she feels has had a significant influence on the way she works today. She moved to London in 1995 to study for a Fine Art degree and later a Teaching Post Graduate Degree. Christiane has been part of many joint exhibitions of her sculpture; she has more recently begun working with a mix of fabrics, threads and paint to create abstract expressions of her experiences and observations. Christiane considers her teaching to play a vital role in her artistic practice because it is a reciprocal process that is both nurturing and inspiring.
